Thank you for your interest in EI Language Centre TESL Program. The following information has been compiled in order to give you a better insight into our program and registration procedures.

The TESL - Teaching English as a Second Language Program has been prepared for students who wish to become teachers of English language to speakers of other languages in Canada as well as abroad.

Our program has been approved by LATIE - a global licencing authority for Teachers of International English. LATIE's mission is to assess and prescribe credentials, uphold standards and promote effective teaching and safe learning in schools around the world. Our successful graduates will receive certification and license to teach English internationally.

The program gives the students a thorough overview of linguistic structures, theory and methodology as well as testing and assessment procedures. It approaches the topics from the perspective of student-centered methodology thus giving the future teachers plenty of opportunities to actively explore the topics under the supervision of the instructors. The program includes micro-teaching sessions designed to expose the students to the role of a teacher before they enter the real classroom.

The demand for qualified English instructors has been growing rapidly in Canada and all over the world. As Canada has become a major ESL learning destination in the world, the demand for qualified, enthusiastic and devoted ESL instructors in Ontario has become enormous.

Our program has been prepared with the objective to satisfy this demand and to ensure a new and exciting career to the successful graduates, whether it is teaching new immigrants, foreign students in Canada or business professionals in foreign countries.

Thank you for your interest in the TESL Certificate Program. We encourage you to contact our admission office for specific information or if you want to reserve a seat in our next class.

Sincerely,
Bo Kopcewicz
