What kind of visa should I apply
for?
If you want to study in Canada for 6
months or less, you can apply for Visitor’s Visa.
If you are planning to take a course that is of duration
of full 6 months or longer, you have to apply for Student
Visa (also called Student Authorization). EI Language
Centre is an institution qualified to issue letters of
enrollment that are honored by Canadian embassies and
consulates around the world.

2. What documents do I need to apply for Canadian
visa?
When you apply for a Canadian visa, you need to submit the
following documents to the Canadian Consulate in your
area:
* Valid passport
* A letter of acceptance from EI
Language Centre
* Proof of sufficient funds to
cover living and study expenses in Canada
* Results of medical exam (some
countries)

3.
What should I do in order to obtain a
letter of enrollment from EI Language Centre?
You can ask for the registration form to be mailed (by
regular mail) or faxed to you. You can also fill out the
registration form on this web site and submit it to us.
Together with your registration you will need to send a
deposit payment in order to secure your placement in the
course.
The deposit payment should cover the following fees:
Registration fee - $100 CAD
Accommodation Placement fee- $150 CAD*
Airport Reception fee - $100 CAD*
50% of the course fees (minimum equivalent of a 4- week
course tuition)
*Only if you require these services

4.
How do I pay the deposit?
You can make the deposit payment in the following ways:
A. Send a cheque or international money order to the
school’s address
B. Send a wire transfer to the following account number
(please add $20 wire transfer fee when you are sending
wire transfer)

C. Make a Visa payment
In order to make a Visa payment you have to send us:
The card number
Expiry date
The name of the primary cardholder

5.
How soon can I get my letter of enrollment?
The letter of enrollment will be sent to you
immediately after the school receives the confirmation of
the deposit payment. If you are sending wire transfer, you
have to fax the bank document to our fax number (416) 483
7701. The letter of enrollment will be sent and faxed (if
you require) to you on the same day provided we receive
your confirmation by 4pm Standard Eastern Time. Otherwise,
you will receive your letter on the next business day. If
you want to receive your letter by courier, please, let us
know. You will have to pay additional fees for this
service - the amount depends on where you live.

6.
When will I receive my homestay family
information?
If you request homestay accommodation, you will
receive the following information about your family at
least 2 weeks prior to your arrival:

Your host’s name, address and a telephone
number
Ages, professions and interests of the family members
Distance to school and directions on how to get from your
homestay to EI Language Centre
Photo of your host family in their home - only if you
request it.
Our families are very friendly and committed to making
your stay in their house a very pleasant experience. We
monitor the homestay situation on the regular basis and we
make sure that all your needs are satisfied..

7.
What happens if I don’t receive my visa to
enter Canada?
If your visa is denied, you will receive a
refund of the prepaid course fees less the Registration
fee, which is non-refundable. In order to obtain your
refund, you have to;
notify the school in writing, return
the original letter of enrollment and provide the school
with the letter of rejection from the Canadian immigration
authorities at least 28 days before your course start
date. If your registration reaches the school in less than
28 days prior to the course start date, you have to notify
the school about visa denial at least 14 days before the
course start date. Failure in complying with the above
conditions will result in denial of the request for
refund.

8.
What happens after I arrive in Canada?
If you choose Airport Reception Service, a
representative of EI Language Centre will meet you at the
airport. After you collect your luggage and pass through
customs, look for a sign with our logo on it. Our
representative will help you with your suitcases and
transport you to your host home. In order to use this
service you have to give us the details of your flight at
least one week in advance.

9.
What will happen during my first day in school?
On your first day in school, you will meet the
course coordinator and have an interview.You will also
write a placement test. The answers you will give will be
used to modify the program content according to your
personal needs. After the interview, you will go on a
tour, see the school and the area. You will also learn to
use the public transit and buy metropass (monthly ticket
for all public transportation within metro area)

How much time do I spend at school
every day?
Your classes will start at 9am every day and run till 2.45
or 5pm, depending on the courses you choose. After school
you can either spend time in the computer lab, resource
center, or go for a trip with your classmates and our
activity director. You can choose from hundreds of
interesting things to do - like playing different sports,
going shopping, seeing a movie, visiting a museum or an
art exhibition.

11. Can I get my health insurance in Canada?
You may want to buy your
insurance in your country, but we recommend obtaining one
in Canada. If you let us know, we will gladly make
arrangements for you in advance, so you will be covered
from your first day in Canada.

REFUND POLICY
Students are responsible for the following procedures:
* Obtaining visas and/or documents allowing them to enter
Canada prior to the course start date
* Observing the dates and deadlines for registration,
changes and withdrawals
The following policy applies to all registrations received
by the school.
1. Students to whom admittance to Canada has been refused
are entitled to a refund of the Course Fees. The
Registration Fee as well as other Service Fees are
non-refundable.
2. In order to obtain the refund students must notify the
school in writing at least 28 days before the course start
date, return the original letter of enrolment and provide
a letter of rejection from the Canadian immigration
authorities. Failure to provide all the documents will
result in the denial of the request for refund.
3. If the request for refund is received by EI Language
Centre less than 28 days before the course start date the
refund will be given less the non refundable fees
(Registration, Airport Transfer, Accommodation Placement)
and the first 4- week course fee.
4. If the request for refund is based on the reasons other
than visa denial, the reasons must be stated in writing.
The above policy will apply.
5. Students who wish to cancel their course after the
course commencement date will receive refunds as follows:
* The first 4-week course fee will not be refunded
* 50% of the remaining balance will be refunded if the
request is received within the 7 days of the course.
* 25% of the remaining balance will be refunded if the
request is received within 14 days of the start date.
* No refund will be issued if the request is received
after 14 days from the course start date as stated in the
official letter of enrolment issued by EI Language Centre.
* In case of homestay cancellation or postponement 28
days' notice must be received by the school (in writing).
If the school is notified less than 28 days before the
homestay start date, the 4- week homestay fee will not be
refunded. Students who wish to postpone their starting
date must notify the school in writing at least 28 days
prior to their course start date. Otherwise, a
postponement fee of $200 CAD will be charged.
