  3. Details- you only want to include details that are one important, and two interesting. You can only use so many words to describe the experience so the ones that captivate your readers are best.
  4. Creating Imagery- you want your reader to be able to recreate the scene that you have crafted in your essay. Making them feel as if they were there only adds to the success of your essay.
  5. Use your sense- You want your readers to imagine not only the sights, but the smells taste, sounds, and texture of things you encountered during your experience so be descriptive.
  6. Be Clear, Be concise- se language that is clear, concise and to the point. Make sure your words keep the reader’s attention and provoke some emotion.
  7. Use a Thesaurus- simple words are great but using words that mean the same thing, but offer a more intelligent read are best. You don’t have to use words that are highly intelligent, because the reader has to know what you are discussing.
  8. Go into Detail- don’t skim the surface of your experience dig deep and let the reader in.
  9. Enlisting Another Pair of Eyes- have someone close to you read over your material. This way they can tell you what captivated them and what can be better written to command the reader’s attention.
